You are not alone. I also watched the X-files from beginning to end (except when DD left) but did not follow Stargate because did not have cable. I finally watched it through Netflix last summer and loved it more than any other show, including Star Trek. I saw GSU first (and I thought it was good) and then went straight to SG-1. SG1 was great. Then tried SGA but it bored me and annoyed me because it did not feature the characters from SG-1, so I could not get into it. Too bad SG-1 is over. I would love to see another movie about them.
