Look! History!
Since the doctor I saw this morning has his office in a town I'd never been to before (and I'm not currently a fan of public transport anyway), A offered to drive me there. I almost regret this now because I unexpectedly found myself being quite fascinated with the place and would have liked to see a little more of it than just the view out of a car window.
It has buildings that are five hundred years old! Five hundred years. How awesome is that?? We drove past a bakery with a sign proclaiming it to have existed since 1632 - the bakery, not the building. People have been selling bread in there for almost four centuries. I AM FASCINATED OK.
Also, Glückstadt was founded by the King of Denmark. That is cool for the simple reason that it makes me think of Hamlet. :P
I don't know if 500-year-old buildings are even all that special, but I certainly haven't seen many in my life ...
