Cosmic Niceties
Dec. 11th, 2010 07:17 amAfter my little emo outburst this morning yesterday afternoon*, the universe apparently decided to cheer me up. :D This happened in the shape of one or two unexpected compliments, a somewhat less unexpected comment filled with more compliments ;), a random conversation on Tumblr, funny things being said on Twitter and in emails, and Daniel watching Star Wars: Episode 1 with me.
I assume that the swollen knee was not part of the plan. After two unsuccessful attempts at freezing it into submission, I moved on to ibuprofen and tiger balm. That worked better.
I've been thinking about the things I'd like to do and have decided that there must be a way I can at least do some of them occasionally. The most obvious example would be walking, I suppose (rain optional). All I need for that is motivation, plus maybe some more warm clothes. And painting would be possible if I had an easel (since bending my head down is the problem here), which I thought I couldn't afford until I sorted the ones on Amazon by price and discovered that there are small ones that you can place on a table! Much cheaper and hopefully sufficient for my purposes.
Inline skating, I realised, is actually not impossible. I'm just not sure how much I'd enjoy it if I knew I had to stop after 15 minutes or so. You don't get very far that way ...
Reading is only a problem because I don't have a comfortable place to sit. Guess why an armchair is my top priority when it comes to choosing furniture for my future home! I won't settle for a mediocre one even if it means I can only afford that and a good mattress. Who needs sofas or tables? ARMCHAIR. :P
*Well, it felt like morning to me and I haven't slept again since ...
