An eventful day ...
May. 2nd, 2011 12:15 pmI have ventured out into the wilds world and conversed with living humans - imagine that. It was a very fruitful venture, even!
I went to the doctor's office without an appointment - because I do not have a phone - but got lucky and didn't have to wait very long in spite of this audacious behaviour. :D What I needed was a prescription for stronger allergy meds because I've been using my inhaler about ten times a day lately and that is just not on. Fucking pollen. I even walked all the way into town afterwards to pick up the pills immediately, which led to an amusing ten minutes at the pharmacy thanks to them not being available lactose-free. I'd mentioned my intolerance, but the doctor didn't have the means to check whether what he chose contained the stuff or not, so he told me to ask the pharmacist and then there was a lot of back and forth including them calling him for advice. o.O
In the end I simply agreed to try it out and see if my stomach can handle it. If it helps and there are no unbearable side effects, I'll be given a depot injection next time.
So. While I was there, I also bought a new pair of sunglasses, which I sorely needed. They're not the best I've owned, but more than acceptable for €3. Then I came across an electric kettle for €10. And when I stopped by the flat on my way back to drop it off, I discovered that a clotheshorse, a mop and a bucket had mysteriously appeared in front of my door. I sincerely hope that Daniel bought them for me and placed them there because otherwise I just stole them. XD
In other news, a man on a bike unexpectedly thanked me for stepping out of his way. I also saw some graffiti on an abandoned building that said "refugees welcome" and "bring your families", which first made me smile and then chuckle because it took me almost a full minute to realise that the words were in English. It appears to be a good day for my faith in humanity.
Hahaha, now Daniel got home and brought me another kettle. Oops!
